Building
a Website
Designing your own
website is not as hard as you may think.
You need an html
editor :
There are many available - a good free one is NVU
which you can download from
NVU.com
It is a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) editor and is used
in the same way as a normal wordprocessor.
You may want some
graphics:
You could have a text-only website, but graphics
do make websites look nicer. Again, there are plenty of graphics
programs available - a good free one is GIMP which you can download
from
Gimp.org
(there are also quite a few graphics tutorials on that site).
A very basic html
design would be to insert a table with 3 rows. The top row would
be your 'header' the middle row would be your main content and
the bottom would be your 'footer'. Another option would be to
use a website template - even with a website template though,
it is useful to know a little bit web design so that you can make
your own changes without having to wait for (or pay for) a website
designer.
The best way to learn
is to get practising! So get something like NVU and start playing
around with it.
